Infrastructure Services
Backup Support
- Provide Backup facilities to the various file servers and application servers.
- Configure the backup server for the various backup jobs on the servers.
- Setup tape rotation schedule.
- Provide for fireproof storage on site and off site storage on a rotating basis.
Internet Service
- Provide internal Internet access.
Network Infrastructure
- Provide and maintain the physical infrastructure for ACOE employees to connect to the Ethernet network at a minimum of 100Mbit and power over Ethernet for the VOIP phones.
- Maintain the Wide area network that connects the school sites to the County office.
- Setup the VLAN that provide security separation between various networks.
- Terminate and connect computers and other network devices.
- Provide DNS, DHCP services on the network.
- Troubleshoot problem with the physical layer through the network layer.
- Maintain the network Operating system on the servers, provide the Domain controllers that act as the repositories of the Microsoft Active Directory.
- Setup new user accounts and provide rights to user and deny rights to sensitive network resources.
- Ensure that the network is reliable and resilient.
Network Monitoring
- Setup Intermapper, Microsoft Operations Manager, Multi Router Traffic Grapher, Packeteer, Lightspeed, SYSLOG server and SNMPc to monitor the various network devices such as routers, switches, servers, WiFi Access Points, and UPS's.
- Setup paging for outages due to hardware problems and application outages.
- Respond to outage via direct in person intervention during business hours.
- Remote access via VPN, Remote KVM via IP KVM system, and Terminal services, as well as Remote reboot with APC's IP connectiion AC master switch.
Network Printing
- Setup Network printer on the network
- Setup print queues on the print server, install the printer drivers on the server, configure the printer to print on the network and work with the applications.
- Troubleshoot problems with the printers.
- Set up clients to access the network printers through windows applications, DOS application, and terminal applications.
Offsite Backup
- Provide districts and other enitities off-site backup facilities. Provide a storage location in our Network Operations Center. The data would be backed up and stored in our facilities according to the Service Level Agreement.
Remote Application Access
- Provide access to applications at client sites outside the ACOE.
- Setup of accounts on VPN and terminal server.
- Hardware and accounts maintenance.
Remote File Access
- Provide users with access to work files from sites other than ACOE's sites.
- Provide varying levels of security based on need and sensitivity of the information. Access can be via VPN, or FTP primarily; Web access is also available.
Storage
- Provide electronic file storage on the network.
- Set up user home directories & department shares.
- Provide security controls to ensure confidentiality of the network files.
Terminal Services
- Provide Terminal services to ACOE personnel and it's clients to allow access to applications on the ACOE network.
Wifi Support / Security
- Provide Wifi connectivity to ACOE guest and employees at ACOE sites.
- Ensure that WiFi access points are located in areas that require wireless connectivity.
- Use of Air Tight security to disallow laptops at ACOE's Winton building from connecting to unauthorized access points from the inside or outside the building.
