Information Technology at ACOE provides a full range of technical and professional services to ACOE staff and technology users throughout Alameda County. Our services range from application development, implementation and support to security management, training, and Internet access. The menu at left provides a categorization of these services in order to help facilitate easy access to our catalog. The following will give you a flavor of what will be found in each grouping:
ACOENet
A bundle of services provided to client districts and other subscribers that is centered on Internet and related services, as well as router maintenance, network engineering, and colocation.
Application Services
Application hosting and administration, as well as an increasing number of applications provided in a Software as a Service offering.
Data Management
ACOE Operations' Department performs many valuable services for member districts including Payroll and A/P Warrant printing, W-2 and 1099 data transmittal, PERS and STRS data file submission, and Independent Contractor data submission.
eSpace
eSpace is the new online collaboration and learning environment for the Alameda County Office of Education. eSpace provides opportunities for project collaboration, professional development, teaching and learning via the web. eSpace members also have access to a personal workspace (My Workspace) which acts a virtual office space.
Infrastructure Services
All of the fundamental technical infrastructure components, such as the wide and local area networks, directory, backup, storage and wireless.
Service Desk
Full Service Desk and technical training services.
Security Services
Security is an increasingly important area of technology. Our services in this area include normal perimeter defense technologies, such as firewall and filtering, as well as anti-spam and anti-virus.
