
The California School Age Families Education (Cal-SAFE) Program
A program providing academic instruction and support services for pregnant and parenting teens. The program operates at two sites:

Our California School Age Families Education (Cal-SAFE) staff is committed to providing a nurturing and caring learning environment for young parents while completing their high school education. Students learn to make healthy living choices and learn successful parenting techniques. Child care is provided at both school sites.
The academic component of the program is designed to enable students to continue or complete their education, secure gainful employment, and develop skills needed to provide a safe and caring environment for themselves and their children. The support services include:
- Childcare centers that provide hands-on supervised experiences in caring for babies/toddlers
- Parenting classes to reinforce positive parenting techniques
- Health care instruction and community service that provides information on pregnancy, facts on child bearing, prenatal care, and self-help resources
- Vocational counseling
- Nutritional information
- Students may be referred to the program by parents, counselors, nurses, doctors, other students, and local agencies.
