The Alameda County Office of Education’s  Division of Student Programs and Services (SPAS) operates year-round Alternative Education programs for a diverse student population.  These programs include Court Schools for students in the Juvenile Justice system, Community Schools for students expelled from district schools, and California School Aged Family Education (Cal SAFE) for students who are pregnant or parenting.   SPAS also operates a Special Education Early Intervention program for children birth through three years of age.  Additionally, SPAS provides special education programs and services to eligible students enrolled in SPAS programs.

In addition to Alternative Education programs, SPAS provides services through Foster Youth Services, McKinney-Vento Homeless Education, and several after school programs.

Our website contains more detailed information about each of our SPAS programs.  We hope you enjoy finding out about SPAS and encourage you to contact us if you have any questions about our Division.
