68 Alameda County Schools to receive $1,000 each
January 5, 2009, Hayward – Sheila Jordan, Alameda County Superintendent of Schools, will host Wells Fargo’s Adopt-A-School Grant Presentation Ceremony on Tuesday January 5, 2009 from 4.30-6.30 pm at the Alameda County Office of Education, located at 313 West Winton Avenue, Hayward, CA 94544
Wells Fargo and Wachovia have teamed up to create the Adopt-A-School program which works to strengthen relationships in the community and to support local schools. This year each Wells Fargo and Wachovia branches have identified two local schools in their community that will each receive $1,000 to support the school’s greatest needs such as supplies, books, sports, and music programs to support the students.
“Wells Fargo is proud to support local schools and help students succeed in the classroom,” said Micky Randhawa, Wells Fargo’s East Bay Regional President. “We encourage other companies to do what they can to support local schools.”
“We are thankful to Wells Fargo for their ongoing contributions to our school classrooms” said Sheila Jordan, Alameda County Superintendent of Schools “This is a time when our local business organizations can make a positive contribution to the lives of our children, we welcome more participation.”
