Congratulations 2014 Anti-Tobacco Public Service Announcement Contest Winners

ACOE's Student Wellness & School Climate Programs would like to thank all of the Alameda County middle and high school students who submitted entries in our third annual countywide Anti-Tobacco "Be Smart, Don't Start" Public Service Announcement contest.  We had a huge response and enjoyed seeing all the creativity and talent of those all over the county.  We received many exceptional entries and we thank all of you for the time you took to prepare your video, audio clip, poster or photo.  Your hard work showed!

Choosing the winners was no easy task.  However, our Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Youth Advisory Board (YAB) members carefully evaluated each entry and have chosen the winners.  Entries were judged based on a rubric developed by our YAB members that included scores in the following categories:

  • Adherence to theme
  • Originality/Creativity
  • Content quality
  • Overall appeal

The winning entries received outstanding marks in each of these categories.  Winners will be honored at our PSA Awards Ceremony on May 5, 2014 at 5:30pm here at the Alameda County Office of Education. Winning entries will also be uploaded to our YouTube channel (acoewellness1) following the awards ceremony.
