Call for Entries!

ACOE School Wellness & Safety Programs is pleased to announce our 1st annual Tobacco Use Prevention Public Service Announcement contest.  This contest is open to middle and high school students, grades 6 through 12.  Our contest theme is “Teens (and Tweens) Kick Ash!”  And, we want to know what teens and tweens have to say about not smoking. They can express their message by producing a video, an audio clip, or a poster. 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In preparation for California’s transition to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), ACOE’s Regional System of District & School Support (RSDSS) team convened the region’s Curriculum Council to hear from special guest expert, David Foster, on How the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) will Impact Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

Middle and High School Science Fair

The NEW Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair (ACSEF) will be held on March 20-22, 2012. ACSEF provides a forum for stimulating interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) among middle and high school students from public, private and parochial schools within Alameda County.
